Friends of Wilton Park
Wilton Park has a network of Wilton Park National Associations. The "Friends of Wilton Park", as they are known informally, provide a wealth of local knowledge and contacts, which are pivotal to Wilton Park's success.
There are National Associations or Committees in Belgium, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Poland, Switzerland and the USA; and more are currently being formed in other countries.
Over the years those who have participated in Wilton Park conferences have formed a number of Associations or Committees around the world to help promote participation in future conferences from their country.
Each of these Associations or Committees has developed its own ways of operating and specific objectives. Some are long-standing and have a fairly wide membership, others are small Committees that operate in conjunction with the British Embassy to promote participation from their country of influential individuals. For the Associations, membership is generally open to all nationals of the country concerned, sometimes for a modest subscription, and usually involves at least one annual meeting including a Wilton Park style discussion. For the Committees, suggestions on speakers and participants are always very welcome, but there is no membership as such.
The Associations recommend, and in some cases sponsor, participants to take part in conferences, and they also suggest potential speakers, and provide invaluable input on the conference agenda.
The German Wilton Park Association, which has been running for 45 years, has its own dedicated website in English and in German.
